Please feel free to post comments/opinions! Went drag racing for essentially the first time (actually I made 2 passes 2 years ago right after I bought the car). I was at a private test n tune where I was the ONE and ONLY import =) Drag racing is a little harder than I thought, altho I'd still rather go road racing. Can't imagine doing this in an auto, I'd be bored to death. Anyway, things started off rough, 1st run was 14.728 @ 102.11 with a 2.885 60' =( With a few practice runs (actually quite a few) I was able to pull my best time of the day: R/T...720 60'...2.202 330...5.753 1/8...8.667 mph...86.18 1000...11.121 1/4...13.213 mph...107.90Here is that race, against my friend/mechanic in his 67 Camaro SS (which smoked me, 10.768 @ 125.85):
I basically arrived at the track and started making passes, street tires, didn't play with my suspension at all, just working on getting down the launch. My AFC and AVC-R are totally untuned as well since I just recently solved coupla other problems with the car. I ran 1.2 but ran 20%less duty in 1st cuz my tires just spun and spun. I'm thinking DRs could easily get me into the 12's. Is anyone running 12's on street tires? Any opinions on my run? I was hoping to get into the 12's with my mods, I consider myself a damn good (road course) driver, this 1/4 mile stuff takes some getting used too =) Anyone I waxed a bunch of domestics, the most satisfying was a brand new WS6. Also some Mustangs, old Camaros, a Cuda, a C4, and some other stuff. I got my ass handed to me a few times too, like an acquaintance's early 90's Saleen convertible, which was running 12.9s on DRs and 12.6s on slicks. He has a stock bottom end and those runs were all motor, altho he has a 170 shot dry kit too. That seems really fast for very little work on a friggin Rustang. oh well. BTW I got a ton of compliments on the car, everyone was really cool, and most were impressed with the times I was running. I love listening to people talk about my car when they don't know the owner is right there =) Couple more pics:

"Slow in, fast out!"
Any idiot can drive fast; what makes a driver good is the ability to screw up and still save it...
